A day of timed practice in Leogang kicks off the 2021 UCI DH World Cup season. A track drowned in mud, as you can see from the video of Thibaut Daprela’s run, with an entirely new section that goes from the exit of the first tunnel to the hall of fame area.
It’s a French trio at the top of today’s ranking which, remember, has no value for the purposes of the race but serves exclusively as a reference for athletes and teams to take measurements of the track. Amaury Pierron sets the best time, followed by team mate Thibaut Daprela and Loris Vergier.
Among the women, it is Monika Hrastnik who sets the reference time, 26 seconds faster than Eleonora Farina who is in second place with an abundant gap of 16 seconds ahead of the hostess – Valentina Höll.
