Marcelo Gutiérrez started off his 2017 mountain bike season in fine style with a win at Colombia’s premier urban downhill race in Manizales this past weekend.
The Colombian native always uses the South American urban downhill races as preparation for his year on the World Cup circuit and he was in imperious form as he thrilled the home crowd by laying down a run that was five seconds faster than his nearest competitor. The victory was Gutiérrez’s sixth consecutive win at the Urbano de Manizales.
