XShifter universal electronic shifting Kickstarter program

[ad3]

In a time when electronic transmissions are making an appearance in the world of MTB with products like Di2, there is a new small company with a kickstarter project to introduce a hybrid concept between mechanical and electronic shifting: the XShifter.

This is a change that can be applied to any type of mechanical shifter to equip them with electronics and wireless control. It mounts easily, replacing the traditional shifter (or both in the case of transmission 2x or 3x) with that of an electronic and wireless XShifter system. The installation is outlined in the photos below and even further down you’ll see a video with a full explanation.

This system is surprisingly simple and claims gap accuracy of 10 microns, thanks to electronically controlled preset locations. The shift is adjusted through the tension of the cord, in the traditional way, and while the a large degree of set up is done via apps on smartphones. XShifters [ad12]
