Product Manager MTB will be responsible for Pirelli Cycling product strategy, positioning and development, with focus on the entire MTB product range. Product Manager MTB will be responsible for Pirelli Cycling product strategy, positioning and development, with focus on the entire MTB product range. She/He will be responsible for all the MTB product lines, from XC to DH and including E-MTB sub-segments, to be balanced in the market from an offer point of view, according to market trends, historical data, competitors’ actions, dealers’ requests, consumers’ needs and racing teams requirements. She/He has to increase the profitability of existing products, optimizing production flows and plant efficiency and to provide all the information, analysis, criteria to develop new products. He will support products development from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on industry trends and requests. She/He must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, good communication and commercial skills. He must enjoy spending time in the market as well as on racing fields to understand competitive scenario, problems and find innovative solutions. She/He must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. She/He will be technical reference for Sales team (including OE) and in contact with customers and external stakeholders in order to spread-out company technological know-how and clearly propose range and products but also to get market information and needs. She/He will also be the technical referent for all our MTB teams taking care not only of product development briefing to and from R&D, but also tyre supply and logistics, marketing material and so on.
The ideal candidate will be direct reference for R&D to:
•Provide information about competitive scenario
•Do analysis about markets trends
•Find ratios to support new products introduction
•Ask for range extension, new sizes development, existing sizes opening according to market needs
•Work with Trade and Communication Marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, defining product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. He will work on product literature
•Managing the entire product line life-cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities: what to develop, why, when, with whom and everything connected to product marketing (labels, packaging, literature)
•Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
•Driving a solution set across development teams (Marketing, R&D, Production, Communications) through market requirements, internal trade-off, production flows and positioning.
•Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute
•At least 2-3 years of product management experience in the Cycling Industry
•Knowledgeable in technology as well as communication
•Keen on bicycle in general, from consumer habits to racing trends, nice to have: focused on MTB segment
•Good communicational and PR skills
•Preferred if active cyclist, ideally MTBiker
•Available to travel and attend outdoor events quite frequently
